Pi-Hua Hsu 徐畢華 (TAIPEI)

1957 年出生於台灣的人文抽象藝術家徐畢華。她的畫家身份要追述到上世紀80 年代。先後在UC Berkeley（柏克萊加州大學）藝術史專業和SMFA, Boston (波士頓的美術博物館學院)繪畫藝術專業深造，在這段留學生涯之中前所未有地歷經了西方文化的衝擊和洗禮，並由此開始了對自己身份認同和東西方差異的無盡探索。

初看徐畢華的創作，讓人不得不聯想到趙無極先生的畫作，但她的抽象構圖和筆觸，加上混合媒材的大膽置入與厚重肌理的細膩表現，若不是用色上流露出來的敏鋭氣息，果敢蒼勁的筆觸倒是令人很難發現作者原來是一位女性藝術家。

其飽滿的創作心靈來自音樂、舞蹈、寫作、花道、色彩、冥想、自然山水、文化經典等多方滋潤。卻以「減法」創作與生活哲學「養」出她別具女性能量與東方意境的「靈性抽象畫」。她善於活用周遭元素及西方媒材，色彩澄明，極富當代時尚思潮。用筆卻獨具中國的書法勁道及氣韻生動精神，更融合抽象表現主義、立體派及色域繪畫風格，在奔放、凝練之間收放自如，作品呈現大器、逍遙、正向的生命能量。

Born in Taiwan in 1957, Jessica Pihua Hsu is an abstract humanistic artist. Her identity as a painter dates back to the 1980s. she

studied art history at UC Berkeley and SMFA in Boston. During her study abroad, she experienced the impact and baptism of western culture like never before, and began to explore her identity and the differences between east and west.

When you first see her art pieces, her abstract composition and stroke, and mixed media bold placement and thick texture and exquisite performance leaves a great impression, if not the acute breath, bold and vigorous brush work, it is very difficult to find the author turns out to be a female artist.

Its full creative spirit comes from music, dance, writing, flower path, color, meditation, natural landscape, cultural classics and

other aspects. However, with the creation of "subtractive method" and the philosophy of life "raise" her unique "spiritual abstract painting" with female energy and Oriental artistic conception.

She is good at using the surrounding elements and western media, full of unique Chinese calligraphy and vivid spirit, and also

integrated with abstract expressionism, cubism and color gamut painting style, the works show great, free and happy, positive

energy of life.
